BAPTISM

  • Baptism is the next step for every person who makes the decision to follow Jesus.

  • Baptism is going public with what has already happened in your soul.

  • Baptism is an important part of your spiritual journey and decision to follow Jesus.

  • Baptism is both a symbolic act and one filled with mystery. In the water, we identify with Jesus’ death and when we come out of the water we identify with the new life that resurrection provides.

FAQs

What is Baptism?

Water Baptism is an outward expression of your decision to follow Jesus and a subsequent act of faith. Jesus himself was baptised. He was not a sinner, yet he humbled himself in obedience to identify with us and give us an example to follow.

Mark 1:9

9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”

Acts 2:38

38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

What do I need to be Baptised?

Any body of water, in which you can be submerged, will work: a bathtub, a hot tub, a pool, a river, a lake, an ocean, a baptismal tank—you name it! It’s not special holy water, special motions, or special prayers, but baptism becomes a holy thing because of our faith.

Can I invite friends/family to be a part of my Baptism?

YES! We encourage you to share your baptism with those close to you. After you register for baptism, you will meet/chat with one of our pastors who will schedule a date/time most convenient for you to hold a virtual baptism. We will share a zoom link that you can share with friends and family.
